British Canoe Union
 

The BCU is the British Canoe Union is the governing body of paddlesports within the United Kingdom. The BCU offer many awards for kayaking and include the star awards. Levels 1-3 concentrate on the basic strokes and are tested on flat water, 4-5 are on moving water or on the sea. The club often has groups taking part in the BCU award scheme.

Other courses taken by members last year included CST (Canoe Safety Test) and Aquatic 1st Aid.

Some members of the club also completed the PRSI (Palm River Safety Initiative), this covered swimming in white water and rescue techniques.
